Clear aligners, one doctor from start to finish

Invisalign moves your teeth with a series of custom, clear plastic aligners instead of metal brackets and wires. Each aligner applies gentle, controlled pressure that shifts your teeth toward their planned position, and you switch to the next one on a schedule Dr. Ilyabayev sets.

The aligners are removable, so there is nothing to avoid eating. Take them out for meals, then brush and floss as usual. Some mild pressure for a day or two after switching aligners is normal, and most patients find aligners more comfortable day to day than braces.

Dr. Ilyabayev sees your treatment through from consultation to final retainer, and our in-house dental lab can often handle extras like a nightguard without an outside lab. Our team speaks English, Spanish, and Russian.

What kind of case is yours?

Treatment length depends mostly on how far your teeth need to move. Start with the description closest to your smile.

Mild crowding or spacing

Small gaps or slightly crowded teeth are usually the quickest cases. Fewer aligners are needed, and many patients finish within a year.

  • Typical lengthOften 6 to 9 months
  • Check-upsRoughly every 6 to 8 weeks
  • Best forSmall gaps, minor crowding

Moderate misalignment

Teeth that are noticeably crowded, rotated, or uneven take more stages of movement, so the aligner series is longer.

  • Typical lengthUsually 12 to 15 months
  • Check-upsRoughly every 6 to 8 weeks
  • Best forCrowding, rotation, uneven teeth

Overbite, underbite, or crossbite

Invisalign can correct many bite problems in addition to straightening. These cases move teeth further and take the longest. Severe bite problems may still call for traditional braces, and Dr. Ilyabayev will tell you plainly if that is the case.

  • Typical lengthOften 15 to 24 months or more
  • Check-upsRoughly every 6 to 8 weeks
  • Best forOverbite, underbite, crossbite

Your treatment, step by step

Every Invisalign case follows the same four stages. How long the middle stage lasts depends on your case.

  1. Step 1

    Consultation and digital scan

A digital scan builds a precise 3D model of your teeth, with no putty impressions. The consultation is free.

  2. Step 2

    Your treatment plan

Dr. Ilyabayev maps every stage of tooth movement in advance, so you can see roughly how your smile will progress.

  3. Step 3

    Wearing your aligners

Wear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day and switch to the next one every one to two weeks, with check-ups roughly every 6 to 8 weeks.

  4. Step 4

    Retainer

Once your teeth reach their final position, a retainer, typically worn at night, holds the result.

Invisalign for teens and adults

Invisalign works well for mild to moderate crowding, gaps, and bite issues in both teens and adults. Invisalign Teen is designed for adolescent patients and includes features that help track wear time.

It does take discipline, since aligners need to be worn 20 to 22 hours a day to stay on schedule. Invisalign is generally not recommended for children whose jaws are still developing.

Cost and payment

Invisalign cost depends mostly on how complex your case is and how long treatment will take. You will get a specific estimate at your free consultation. See Invisalign cost for more on what affects the price.

Bayside Dental Arts accepts PPO insurance and offers financing through CareCredit, Cherry, Alphaeon, and LendingClub.
