Many emergencies end up being treated with a root canal or an extraction, depending on how the tooth is affected, but the first step is always getting you in front of a dentist so we can see exactly what is going on.
Is This a Dental Emergency
Call our office right away if you are dealing with any of the following:

A small number of situations need hospital care before a dental office can help.
You have facial swelling that is spreading toward your eye or neck, difficulty breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, a high fever with swelling, or a jaw that may be broken. These signs can point to an infection or injury that needs care beyond what a dental office can provide right away.

How Fast Can I Be Seen for an Emergency
We prioritize emergency calls and do our best to see you the same day. Call as early as you can so we have the most flexibility in fitting you into the schedule.
Should I Go to the Emergency Room for a Toothache
Most toothaches, even severe ones, are best treated by a dentist rather than an emergency room, since an ER can manage pain and infection but cannot fix the underlying dental problem. The exception is if you have swelling that is spreading, a fever, or trouble breathing or swallowing.
Can a Knocked-Out Tooth Really Be Saved
Often, yes, if you act quickly. Guidance published by the National Institutes of Health notes that most teeth can be successfully replanted when they are handled within 30 minutes, with the odds dropping as more time passes (NIH).
What if My Crown or Filling Falls Out
Keep the area clean and avoid chewing on that side. Treat it the same way you would a lost filling or crown and call us so we can get you in before the exposed tooth is damaged further.
Does Insurance Cover Emergency Dental Visits
